Week 03 Pt 2: Why the Game: Final Design🎯

by Leather for Kids 31 Aug 2025

Once the jet’s overall form was finalized, we turned our attention to the details that would complete the game. The first challenge was the tip of the jet. To keep the design true to its aerodynamic look, the jet needed a defined nose. We experimented with different materials, including metal studs, but ultimately chose magnetic paper cones. This solution gave the jet its finished shape while ensuring it remained safe and child-friendly.

The next focus was the radar board. For this, we looked at the digital display of the KLJ-7A radar system used in the JF-17 Block III. Its screen layout and interface provided a strong visual reference, and we drew on those elements to design our own magnetic radar. The result was a board that reflected the Thunder’s digital aesthetic while functioning seamlessly as part of the dart game.

With the jet tips and radar board finalized, the core design of the game was complete, laying the foundation for what came next!
