Week 6 – Part 2: The Final Box
By the end of this week, we will have the final design of our box, complete with everything that will go inside it. The box itself featured a bold yellow background, with our green and other design elements standing out against it. The back carried details about what was included, while the inside of the lid held the metallic target radar fixed in place. With a thread attached, the lid could be hung directly on a wall to play the game, making the box itself part of the experience.
Opening the box, the first thing you’d see was a detailed account of everything inside, including notes on the leather used to craft the jets: a mix of buffalo and cow leather. Next came an info card that introduced kids to the types of leather commonly available in Pakistan, with our mascots guiding them through how to identify each using the senses of touch, sight, and smell.
We also reworked our instruction manual. While it continued to follow the map-inspired theme, we transformed it into a booklet for ease of understanding and smoother navigation.
At the heart of the box were the two jets, carefully hand-wrapped in kite paper—green for the green jet and orange for the white jet. We chose kite paper over plastic to stay eco-friendly, and every wrap was done with care.
Lastly, at the bottom sat an illustrated comic strip, offering a lighthearted glimpse into our design journey inside the imaginary world of Leatheristan, where we interacted with Bull Khan, the buffalo, and Emily, the cow. It was the perfect way to close the unboxing with a touch of fun.
With this version ready, all that was left was more user testing and preparing to take the box commercial!
